The AIDS Foundation of South Africa (AFSA) is a Durban-based NGO that acts as an interface between Donors and Community Based Organisations (CBO’s), working in the HIV/AIDS sector, by placing donor funds with strategically selected CBOs, in South Africa, and providing them with ongoing technical support & capacity building.

AFSA seeks to appoint 3 Programme Assistants- Application Reviews and Assessments on a fixed term contract ending February 2021. The position will be based at the Organisation’s Head Office in Durban.

Purpose of Job:

Assist with screening of applications for SPSF Year 3

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Screening Applications
  • Summarizing Applications
  • Documenting Applications
  • Liaising with Applicants

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with more than 65% for English Language
  • Systematic approach to problem solving
  • Ability to document and record keep
  • Ability to effectively summarise
  • Good English writing
  • Able to meet deadlines and respond quickly and effectively under pressure
  • Good understanding of Social, Environmental, Political and Economic issues in South Africa
  • Attention to detail
  • Independent worker
  • Report writing
  • Basic office administration skills
  • Business telephone etiquette
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Systematic approach to problem solving
  • Ability to document and record keep
  • Ability to effectively summarise

  • Drivers licence preferred
