On 1 August 2018, over 4000 women and gender non-conforming individuals met at Curries Fountain in Durban South Africa to join the countrywide and international Total Shutdown Intersectional Women’s March against Gender Based Violence. Protesters marched to Durban City Hall to hand over a memorandum calling for greater action against GBV from the City, Police Service, Justice Department, and the Government in general.
