The AIDS Foundation of South Africa (AFSA) is proud to announce the appointment of Ms Ntombenhle Mkhize as the organisation’s Chief Executive Officer as of 1 September 2020.

Born and raised in Kwa-Zulu Natal, Ms Mkhize has gained valuable experience through her work in international NGOs such as USAID and Orbis International, working in several countries, most notably within the East and Southern Africa region.

Ms Mkhize brings to AFSA notable experience in international development, fundraising and stakeholder management. She is extremely passionate about providing quality healthcare to, and for, all people.

Ms Mkhize is an alumni of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Community and Development Disciplines from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, a Post-graduate Diploma in HIV/AIDS Management from the University of Stellenbosch where she’s also completing her Master’s degree in Trans-disciplinary Health and Development Studies. When she isn’t at the office, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.

When asked about her vision for AFSA, she says that she “hope[s] to see AFSA as a pioneer in development and management of public health programmes that effectively respond to community needs.”
