On the 12th of May 2022, the Aids Foundation of South Africa attended a signing ceremony as one of the four Principal Recipients of the Global Fund Grant in South Africa. The R8.9 billion grant will run from April 2022 to March 2025 and is aimed at accelerating the TB, HIV and Malaria response.

The ceremony was officiated by the Honourable Minister of Health, Dr Joe Phaahla who emphasized the importance of ensuring that no one is left behind.

The grant is administered through a structure known as the Global Fund Country Coordinating Mechanism (GF-CCM) which is chaired by the SANAC CEO, Dr. Thembisile Xulu, and is Co-chaired by the SANAC Civil Society Forum Deputy Chairperson, Mr. Solly Nduku.
