1. Fanang Diatla Self Help Project – R322 350.00

The project operates in six villages in Ga Mathabatha in the Capricorn District. Their work includes: poverty alleviation through small business development; care for adults and children living with and/or affected by HIV and AIDS; and those affected by family violence and abuse. AFSA funded the OVC programme and 168 children benefited from the DIC.

2. Far North Health Care Centre – R328 400.00

This CBO is committed to rendering quality service to OVC and sick people. It operates in eight villages in the Vhembe District and its programme includes health-care development, child and youth development and food security services. AFSA supported the home-based care and OVC programmes and 487 children benefited as a result.

3. Mapate HIV and AIDS Project – R341 560.00

Based in Thohoyandou, Vhembe District, this project operates in six villages and includes a drop-in-centre, home-based care, OVC, and poverty alleviation programmes. The organisation provided services to 540 households and 172 children at the DIC.

4. Ramotshinyadi HIV and AIDS Youth Guide – R325 700.00

With a particular focus on raising youth awareness of HIV and AIDS, this CBO operates in seven rural communities in the Mopani District. The organisation used the grant for the support of OVC. A total of 1200 household were reached and 210 children benefited from the programmes.

5.Balwantwa Home Based Care – R38 900.00

Balwantwa is based in the Relela Village and targets the community in the surrounding villages.Their main focus is on home based care, caring for HIV & AIDS patients and referrals of OVC to relevant service providers.AFSA support the HBC programme. The CBO implemented the programme in 5 villages and has reached 3000 household (200 household per carer).

6. Lulama Health Development Organisation – R46 987.00

Lulama Health Development organisation operates in 3 villages of the greater Giyani municipality.The main focus of this CBO is to provide home based care, care and support for orphans and vulnerable children and also operates a drop-in centre where they provide psychosocial support services to the children in need.

7. Holani Home Based Care Organisation- R38 200.00

The main focus is on the provision of home based care and psychosocial support to orphans and vulnerable children.They are operating in 3 villages and volunteers and staff comes from the targeted villages.AFSA support the OVC programme.
The project is implementing two programmes in the 3 villages. With all these villages, Holani has successfully established 1 drop-in centre which is in the same building as their offices.

8. Dzekula Development Organisation- R42 000.00

Dzekula operates in 89 villages and its main focus is home based care and the establishment of support groups with Khomonani so that they can extend their services wider to more community members.

9. Modjadji V Care Group- R41 500.00

Based in Modjadji V village and operating in 8 villages from Modjadji Tribal authority. The volunteers are coming from villages that are part of the targeted community. The main focus of the project is home based care, psychosocial support to OVCs and poverty alleviation. AFSA is supporting this project to support 30 OVCS and is involved in fish farming and vegetable garden for food security.
OVC Programme: Modjadji has successfully established a Drop-in Centre and reached out to 30 vulnerable children.The Centre targeted children from 0-18 years and about 90 children were assisted outside the Centre.The Centre ensured that all children received at least 1 meal per day, assisted with school home work and exposed to life stimulation activities.

10. Disha Home Based Care- R38 490.00

Operating from Ditshotshing village and it covers 3 villages addressing HIV & AIDS issues by caring for the sick through home based care interventions.Due an increase in a number of orphans, the organisation opened a drop-in centre (DIC) to care for OVCs and AFSA grant is supporting this initiative.

11. Ntshuxekani Community Based Organisation- R44 909.00

This is a youth organisation working in the Jamela village covering 4 villages.It is defined as a service provider to community based initiatives in the areas of education for prevention and care and support.The project has 3 programmes, HBC, OVC and education and prevention. The funding from AFSA supported the OVC programme.

12. Bokamoso Community Development And Health Centre- R48 581.00

The main focus is on sport and recreational activities and health promotion. The HBC and OVC programmes were introduced later.Bokamoso operates in16 villages and AFSA supports the OVC programme.

The project was initiated in October 2001 by World Vision UK and was registered as an NPO. The project is based in the Maruleng Municipality in the Mopani District at Ga-Sekororo area.It is located in the Metz village from where the project conducts its daily operations.The project provides Community Home Based Care, OVC Programmes, Drop-in Centres, Income Generating Activities, Lay Counselling and Greenery Programmes

The project was established in 2002 at the Lorraine Clinic and was registered as an NPO.The project is physically situated in the Maruleng Municipality at Ga-Sekororo area at a place called Metz Village near Sekororo hospital.The project provides Community Home Based Care and OVC Programmes

The project was established in 2002 and was registered as an NPO in 2003 July.The project is physically situated in Maruleng Municipality at Ga-Sekororo area at a place called Mabins Village.The project provides Community Home Based Care, OVC Programmes, Health Promotions, Greenery gardens, Poverty Alleviation Programmes and Drop-in Centres.

The project was initiated in 2004 and was also registered as an NPO in 2005.The project is based in the Greater Tzaneen Municipality in the Mopani District and is located in Muhlava Royal Palace from where it conducts its daily operations. The project provides Community Home Based Care, OVC Programmes, Drop in Centres and income generating activities.

The project was initiated in 1999 and was registered as an NPO in 2007.The organisation was initiated with the assistance of CHOICE and has been part of CHOICE mentoring programme.The project is based in the Greater Tzaneen Municipality in the Mopani District.The projects’ structure is located in Zankoma village where the project conducts its daily operations from the Zankoma Clinic.The project provides Community Home Based Care and OVC Programmes

The project was established in October 2002 and was registered as an NPO in 2004.The project is physically stationed in the Greater Giyani Municipality at Sikhunye village.

The project was initiated in June 2000 and was registered as an NPO in July 2006.The project is based in the Greater Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality in the Mopani District.It is located in the Makhushane village where the project conducts its daily operations.

21. Phakgamang Re Tiisane Ba-Phalaborwa – R44 550.00

The project was initiated by a retired nurse after realising that patients were discharged from health care facilities and left without proper treatment, care and support.The project was established in March 2001 and was registered as an NPO in June 2001.The project is located in Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality in Namakgale Location.
The CBO provides community home based care, OVC programmes, support groups, awareness programmes, greenery gardens, poverty alleviation and Voluntary Testing and Counselling.

22. Lulekani Home BasedCare –R 38 839.00

The project was established in 1999 and was initiated by a group of woman who were implementing a DOT support programme.Registration as an NPO came into effect as from 2002.The project is stationed in the Greater Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality at a place called Lulekani Village.The project has been allocated an office space at Lulekani Crèche where it conducts its daily operations.
The project provides Community Home Based Care, OVC Programmes and TB DOTS programme.

23. Mohlanatsi Integrated Rural Development Programme –R43 900.00

The project was initiated in April 1998 and was registered as an NPO in September 2002.The project is based in the Greater Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality in the Mopani District.The projects’ structure is located in Selwana village where the project conducts its daily operations.
The project provides Community Home Based Care, OVC Programmes, Health Promotions, Greenery gardens, Poverty Alleviation Programmes and Drop-in Centres.

24. Enable Area Development Project- R43 150.00

The project was initiated in 1990 as a Community Development Programme.Through the support of World Vision SA being one of its main donors, Community Development Programme was changed to Enable ADP in order to cover a larger area in terms of service provision and was registered as an NPO in February 2002. The project is physically operating in the Maruleng Municipality at Ga-Sekororo area at Enable Village
The project provides Community Home Based Care, OVC Programmes, Greenery gardens involving the youth, Poverty Alleviation Programmes and Drop-in Centres including a crèche.
