AIDS FOUNDATION OF SOUTH AFRICA

The AIDS Foundation of South Africa (AFSA) is a well respected NGO that acts as an interface between Donors and Community Based Organisations (CBO’s) working in the HIV and AIDS sector by placing donor funds with strategically selected CBOs and providing them with ongoing mentorship, technical support & capacity building.

VACANT POSITION: STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP COORDINATOR

The AIDS Foundation of South Africa has a vacancy for a Strategic Partnership Coordinator (Grade D Lower) within the Programmes Department. This is a permanent position based at the Durban Head Office.

Requirements:

• Relevant degree or diploma in Development or related studies.
• Minimum of 3 years working with communities, policy makers and the interpretation of policies and plans, plus at least 3 years experience in the HIV/AIDS sector
• Strong advocacy and community mobilisation skills
• Good understanding of community development and organisational dynamics, corporate governance and finance
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
• Database/IMS experience
• Excellent proven report-writing skills
• Fluency in English and at least two of the following South African languages: isiZulu, isiXhosa, Sesotho, Setswana or any other relevant language
• Public Speaking and Presentation Skills
• Must have an unendorsed driver’s license and be able to drive
• Must have access to own motor vehicle, which must be insured and in good working condition
• Must be prepared to travel extensively on a monthly basis
• Must be prepared on occasion for the possibility to travel and make presentations in other countries

The person appointed will need to have strong planning and organising abilities, decision making / problem solving and interpersonal skills as well as having excellent written and presentation skills. In addition the person appointed will need to be able to build networks and relationships with donors and communities.
